Zeya Arkar

Zeya has three older sisters, each with a household and responsibilities of her own, though they remain a constant presence in his life. He still calls the youngest, Princess Nu Hla, Nu Nu, and would tell her almost anything. His uncle, Lord Ray, taught him martial arts and how to be still inside his own head. Khin Yu has been his guard since childhood and has never once left his side.

It’s a life full of people who love him and depend on him, yet, until Sein, not a single true friend who wanted nothing from him.

He is fond of food adventures, green tea, and sword training that leaves him too tired to think. More recently, he has become rather fond of a lady at court who pays him no particular attention. Thoughtful, quietly witty, and endlessly curious, Zeya would rather ask questions than be admired.

In a life shaped almost entirely by other people’s wishes, he is slowly discovering what he might want for himself.
